nest is a New Zealand owned company. The business was started in 1997 and initially operated from a spare room in a family home in Devonport, Auckland. As the business evolved it was moved to different premises and now operates from an office / showroom located in central Auckland.

1997 June - nest commenced business as an importer and wholesaler of quality, contemporary well designed home ware in the New Zealand and Australian markets.
1999 Oct - opened the first nest retail store in Newmarket, Auckland
2001 June - acquired exclusive rights to the LSA product for NZ
2001 Sept - opened nest store in Botany Town Centre, Auckland
2002 Oct - relocated nest Newmarket store to 277 Shopping Centre, Auckland
2003 Dec - opened nest store in Wellington
2003 Dec - acquired exclusive rights to the ASA product for NZ
2004 Oct - opened nest store in Christchurch
2004 Nov - new nest store opened in Ponsonby, Auckland
2005 Feb - new wholesale showroom opens; head office relocates to Auckland City

The nest® brand is synonymous in New Zealand with inspirational, functional, yet affordable contemporary home ware, designed for modern living. Our emphasis is on delivering quality and good design within this context.

nest operates four of it’s own retail outlets in the three major cities in New Zealand, and has two retail partners operating stores in Tauranga and Dunedin. The wholesale distribution division services other key selected retailers throughout the country.

nest Product Range

nest has product manufactured under the nest® brand covering the core categories of dinnerware, glassware, cutlery, towels, bed linen, etc.

We also are the exclusive NZ distributors of several key global brands in home ware: Monno – dinnerware, LSA – glassware, ASA – ceramics, Broste – fashion home ware, Habitat - selected products from the Habitat range.

Built around these ranges are products selected by our buying team, which fulfil the nest criteria for quality, contemporary, well designed, affordable homeware. The majority of products are purchased directly from manufacturers and imported into NZ by nest. The nest products combine to provide a unique offering to the NZ customer. A range of good quality, well designed products for a practical modern lifestyle.

New Zealand has a strong tourist industry. nest aims to supply the more selective lodges, apartments, hotels, yachts, etc. with their home ware requirements. The nest stores provide an ideal “showroom” for this activity.
